November and December tend to be months that we have a greater focus on gratitude and kindness than any other time of year. World Kindness Day was on 13 November. Throughout the month of November I typically share at least one situation, person, thing that I am grateful for a day. December I try to focus more on kindness and service.
Everyone’s idea of kindness is different. The main thing to remember is that you can make the world better by being kind to the people around you. Don’t feel discouraged if you cannot hop on a plane to some third world country to build an orphanage or school.
Not sure what to do to spread kindness? Random Acts of Kindness has so many ideas in several different categories that can be used not only during this holiday season but throughout the year.
My favorite ‘kindness’ activity list I found was on Facebook last week. A friend shared it, and I am thankful they did! The creator is from Coffee Cups and Crayons. Her family has been doing a Random Act of Kindness countdown to Christmas for years, it has become one of their traditions. I mirror her thoughts that, “Widespread kindness makes a community feel happier.”
See this years calendar below and check out her blog for past years random acts of kindness they have done! I am a little late in starting but tomorrow is a new day.
Happy Holidays y’all!
