In August of last year I was called to be the Relief Society Meeting Coordinator. The purpose of Relief Society is to prepare women for the blessings of eternal life by helping women increase their faith and personal righteousness, strengthen their families and homes, and serving the Lord and His children. The meetings that I coordinate outside of church give me the opportunity to do just that.
Last month, I put together a Hot Cocoa Social. My committee and I wanted to start the year on a very relaxing note and to give the ladies a chance to really bond as sisters and friends. Especially after the holiday frenzy we all endured!
The only downfall was that week the weather man was calling for almost a foot of snow to start falling the same night as our social! Despite our best efforts the turn out was slim, I believe my final count was 10-12 ladies. I still enjoyed getting to know the few that attended.
Next one is in March where I hope to be able to pull off a reenactment of the first Relief Society Meeting!
