The weather has warmed up but the “April Showers” appear to have started this week; I better see amazing flowers in May! On overly grey, rainy days all I want to do is curl up on the couch and drink gallons of hot cocoa. My little man does not always allow this because, well, he is 18 months and demands to be entertained. This week I shared my love of hot cocoa with him through sensory and pretend play.
Growing a Jeweled Rose (one of my favorite toddler-approved blogs!) put together hot chocolate sensory rice and pretend shop in minutes that entertained her little’s on a winter-filled day.
Teach Preschool has a recipe for hot chocolate play dough that is perfect for working on motor skills. She states her room spelled of chocolate all day! Children love playing with a variety of textures and scents. 123 Homeschool 4 Me has a cocoa cloud dough recipe that is sure to please youngsters and their parents!
Pre-K Pages has a Hot Cocoa Stand play kit infused with literacy, math, and oral language opportunities. Her beautiful printable props will help you easily transform your dramatic play center into a hot cocoa stand for winter (or in my case, early Spring). I (my husband) have enough cardboard around my home to create this play area for Saturday.
